A five-day intensive experience designed for Black and Brown youth ages 11–14 who carry potential, promise, personality, gifts, goals, and greatness inside of them.
Many young people do not lose confidence overnight. They lose it little by little — in classrooms where they are afraid to speak, in friendships where they feel pressure to fit in, in mirrors where they question their worth, and in transitions where they are expected to grow up before they feel ready.
This camp reaches students before insecurity becomes silence, before peer pressure becomes poor decision-making, and before low confidence limits their potential.
BridgeBuilders Summer Confidence Camp will serve approximately 30–40 Durham youth ages 11–14, with special focus on students preparing to transition from elementary school into middle school.
We are seeking young people with the X Factor. Not perfect young people. Not young people who have it all figured out. But young people with promise, personality, gifts, goals, and greatness inside of them.
Space is limited, and students must complete the application process to be considered.
Download Youth ApplicationThis will not be a sit-and-listen camp. Students will speak, move, write, share, practice, and grow.
Hands-on activities focused on identity, self-worth, public speaking, emotional strength, and personal responsibility.
Guest speakers, tours, and an interactive mixer with local leaders who can stretch, inspire, and encourage students.
A six-month follow-up plan connects selected students with a designated mentor for guidance and accountability.
By the end of camp, our goal is for youth to leave more confident, connected, and prepared for middle school.
The cost is minimal, but the benefits are priceless. Only a limited number of students will be accepted through the application process.
